Turtle Bits: A Goonies Reunion, TMNT LEGOS On Sale December 24th

by Justin W

As I’m sure most of you know, there’s a lot of nostalgia surrounding Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With Rob Paulsen playing Donatello and Sean Astin taking over the role of Raphael, the show features two of the 80’s most prominent and well known voices. Well, now the show is going to have even more retro street cred, as they’ve paired up Astin with his old pal Corey Feldman for some special episodes in season 2! The Goonies, Corey Fieldman, TMNT

The two worked together previously on the much beloved Richard Donner film The Goonies, and haven’t really had much of an opportunity to work together since. There’s still no word on exactly who Feldman’s character will be in these new episodes, but he seems pretty happy to get the chance to work with Astin again: “The coolest part is it’s two Goonies working together again after all these years, which is crazy, because we’re all such good friends.” In the TMNT universe, Feldman is best known for playing the voice of Donatello in the first and third movie, which prompted producer Ciro Nieli to give him a gig on the show. Corey is expected to be featured in multiple episodes, which is a good sign that his character will be rather prominent and important to the series. As Cieli puts it, “his role is a perfect complement to his relationship with Sean, it couldn’t be any better.” Or could it?

We’ve been following the development of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles LEGO line for quite a while now, from the rumor stage to the box art, and now to its official release. While the set was originally slated for a January 2013 release, it would appear that the LEGO shop is going to have the entire lineup available for sale on the 24th of December! That’s right, the online store for this much beloved toy line has finally given these sets their own home pages, with each promising the following bit of holiday joy: “Coming Soon on 24 Dec 2012.” For those who thought they might have to wait a little bit longer, I’m sure this will come as welcome news! If you want to be one of the first to get your hands on these new TMNT toys, check out the entire lineup at shop.lego.com.

I’m guessing Feldman will be voicing Casey Jones! Not positive, but that’s my guess.

That is a great guess!

I bet you’re right. Casey and Raph end up being good friends, if that has to do with anything. I guess it’s related to the fact that Astin and Feldman are friends.

Casey Jones is expected to be young as April O’Neil. As reported, both April and Casey are in High School during this part of the series.

Donatello would most certainly attack Casey at first.
