TMNT to be Featured in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Well, it would appear that Nickelodeon’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is a pretty big hit. With the premiere drawing in a crowd of almost 12 million viewers, it’s hard to deny that these four awesome turtles are still pretty relevant to a lot of people. Just how relevant are they? Well, it’s got to be a good sign that they’re going to be getting their own float in the next Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Yep, on Thursday, November 22nd, the TMNT will be featured on an exclusive float during the 86th Annual parade that, for many, has become a staple of the holiday season and of popular culture in general. Only the best of the best get featured during this event, so it’s only fitting that our favorite ninjas will be bringing some action to an otherwise typical holiday occasion. Amy Kule, executive producer of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, had this to say about the new addition:

“We are very excited to welcome the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the line-up this year, where a new generation of fans will enjoy their ninja moves and action-packed adventures. This amazing float will be a dazzling experience for spectators who will have a front row seat for their Thanksgiving Day journey.”

A conceptual sketch of the float reveals that this will be no ordinary scene. Here we will find the turtles in their natural background of the grimy streets and sewers, no doubt fighting off crime in their own special way. There’s no word yet on whether or not the float will include much more of a show for fans than a simple wave to the crowd from their favorite heroes in a half shell, but the scene depicted in this sketch seems to indicate that there might be more at play here than just your average addition to the much beloved Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Let the speculation begin! What do you think? Is this going to be just some ordinary, run-of-the-mill float? Or are they going to go all out? Whatever the case, be sure to tune in for the event on NBC on November 22nd at 9 AM.
