The weeks leading up to New York Toy Fair are always pretty interesting. This year promises some potentially interesting details about the new cartoon Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but you’d be crazy to think those are the only TMNT toys that will be shown off during the convention. Thankfully, we now know at least one of the products that will most certainly be on display at the toy fair.

Forever Collectibles has announced a line of Eekeez TMNT vinyl figures on the horizon. As you can probably tell, these figures are designed to look like expertly carved tiki dolls. Leonardo, Raphael and Shredder will be the first three characters released in February of 2018. Needless to say, we’ll probably see Mikey and Donatello soon enough, but that might depend at least partially on the success of this initial lineup.

Although it’s cool to see Forever Collectibles releasing these tiki-inspired TMNT vinyls, fans should know that this isn’t the first time we’ve seen such a product. Sharp-eyed viewers will probably remember that a company called Geeki Tiki released some TMNT tiki mugs a year or two ago. These tiki mugs were a Loot Crate exclusive at first, but they are now available for individual sale.

To be fair, even though the idea isn’t exactly new, it’s clear that Forever Collectibles has put a lot of effort into these TMNT toys. Whereas the TMNT tiki mugs only have a few carved details, these Eekeez TMNT vinyls are designed to look like they were legitimately carved out of wood. The ornamentation on Shredder’s mask alone is more intricate than any other TMNT tiki design we have seen on the market.

Say what you will about the glut of TMNT vinyl figures on store shelves, but this is at least a creative and well crafted product. If you want to pick up one of these TMNT Eekeez, they are currently available for pre-order at a price of $14.99 each.
